I changed the value to this setting: 1 = The Offline Address Book uses the Download Full Items download mode. I then deleted all of the files as per the article. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or have any idea why it would occur?
If you are not seeing correct contact information in the GAL for someone that has a valid email address (i.e.someone who just received a CUMC email account, a new student, someone who recently changed their directory information) please use the steps below to synchronize your computer's locally cached version of the GAL.
In this guide, the relevant timings are explained and instructions are given in how you can directly force an update and resync, which can be very handy when troubleshooting or when you work in an Exchange environment which sees a lot of user mailbox mutations.
This means that in the worst possible scenario, an update to the Address Book won’t become available to the user until 48 hours after the change.
You can disable the option “Download changes since last Send/Receive” to make sure you get a complete fresh copy of the OAB but this could take longer to download.
In Outlook 2010 and previous, it is recommended to leave the option “Full Details” enabled.
